“When Market’s Get Tough, Invest Green for Long-Term Security”

  GreenWire – Issue 7 – October 2011

Letter from Bob de Wit, CEO of GreenAngel Energy

Robert Bob de WitUnless your portfolio is largely composed of shares from Apple, it’s likely that the summer and fall of 2011 didn’t witness much positive performance. Here at the GreenAngel offices, we’re not discouraged, we’re getting ready for an exciting New Year as we watch our portfolio companies build value. We’ve dedicated these next months to showcasing what we already know about these six companies: they’re going to do very good things for our investors. With uncertainty and doubt comes the inevitable decision to change, and “Green” seems to be the favourable choice for a planet faced with an impending energy crisis.

The two investee companies we’ve featured this month are more than ready to do their part to build a more stable tomorrow. When it comes to highly efficient air exchange, DPoint Technologies is blowing away the competition. Our team recently did a site visit resulting in a story that will have you asking, “where can I get one?” The technology behind dPoint’s air exchange membrane is rivaled only by the management team’s ability to grow within a changing marketplace. REV Technologies has a big picture vision to renew the way we think of “The Grid”, by developing technology that is revolutionizing energy storage and distribution..

If you’ve been following GreenAngel for any length of time, it’s likely you’ve heard us talk about Venture Capital Corporations or VCC’s. We realize that a VCC can be a somewhat difficult investment entity to understand, so we’ve endeavored to create a three chapter mini-series that explains them. Chapter One entitled: “What is a VCC?”, is up and ready for your questions and comments.

The GreenAngel blog is always a great place to get fresh news on our investees’ activity, along with recent Cleantech Industry trends. If you have an industry topic you want us to cover, a suggestion for the website or resource centre, or something you’d like more info on, please don’t hesitate to email us at info@greenangelenergy.ca or contact us via our social media channels. You can also keep an eye on our live events and shows by visiting the events page on our website.

Sincerely,
Bob de Wit

REV’s Game-Changing Vehicle to Grid Technology Making it Possible for Renewables to Take Over

REVTech V2G diagramAs REV Technologies embarks on new territory they are stepping outside the box and onto the grid, the smart grid. Founder and CEO, Jay Giraud, has a vision for a network of vehicles that will collectively provide utilities with back-up energy in times of fluctuation, achieving increased stability for the grid. As renewable energy becomes more necessary, “back up” solutions will be needed to allow this transition to actually occur. REV’s technology will be able to provide insurance to the grid which will ultimately permit renewable energy sources to become major providers. Read more about REV’s Microgrid Technology.
