“GreenAngel Grows its Network of Tech Followers and Investors”

  GreenWire – Issue 8 – November 2011

Letter from Bob de Wit, CEO of GreenAngel Energy

Robert Bob de Wit Welcome to the November issue of the GreenWire, GreenAngel Energy’s Greentech investment newsletter. If you’re one of our many new recipients this month, thanks for reading, we hope you enjoy what we have to contribute. The GreenAngel team significantly increased our readership this month by attending several events and conferences. We realize that this is a complicated time in the stock market for most investors. We want to make our team as available as possible for any questions about GAE share ownership. We’re also very actively using our website to keep investors up to date on Green Technology trends and news on our investments.

One major update to the website this month was the addition of the Tom Rand Green Resource Centre, a comprehensive guide to Green Energy technologies and their implications on the future. We strongly encourage you to explore this resource centre located here: www.greenangelenergy.ca/green-resource-centre/.

We’ve also posted our second issue in the VCC mini-series entitled: “Advantages of Participating in a VCC”. We realize that a VCC can be a somewhat difficult investment entity to understand, so we’ve endeavored to create a three chapter mini-series that explains them. Chapter Two of the VCC series can be found here, and is ready for your questions and comments. Also, in the spirit of continuing to show off our investee organizations, last week we wrote a blog post on Jay Giraud, CEO of REV Technologies.

The GreenAngel blog is always a great place to get fresh news on our investees’ activity, along with recent Cleantech Industry trends. If you have an industry topic you want us to cover, a suggestion for the website or resource centre, or something you’d like more info on, please don’t hesitate to email us at info@greenangelenergy.ca or contact us via our social media channels.

Sincerely,
Bob de Wit

VCC Series 2: Advantages of Participating in a VCC

Image of VCC Tax Credit ShelterIn our last post on Venture Capital Corporations (VCC) entitled: VCC Mini-Series – What is a VCC, we discussed what exactly a VCC is, the history of a VCC, and who can invest in what type of VCC. Now we will discuss the tax benefits to investing in a VCC, likely the most attractive component to the investment. The idea behind the tax credit is that the tax income to the government, generated by the investee company (through PST, GST and corporate tax) and its employees (income tax), outweighs the outflow of tax credits to investors.
